5 Low Cost, Easy Ways to Keep Your Bathroom Smelling Fresh

Here are five easy ways to keep your bathroom smelling fresh between cleanings.
1. Baking Soda
Baking soda isn’t just for cookies and cakes. It’s a well-known, natural, all-purpose deodorizer.
Start by adding 2 teaspoons to a small bowl or vase. Make sure to place it somewhere where it won’t get knocked over or wet. (Add some fake flowers or seashells to give it a more aesthetic look.)
Add a few drops of essential oils (lemon, peppermint, lavender, etc.). Change the baking soda every 30 days to maintain deodorization.
2. Cedar Chips
Cedar chips have a wonderful fragrance of their own. Adding a few drops of essential oils takes brings their aroma to a new level that keeps your bathroom smelling fresh.
Cedar chips can be found in many hardware, craft, and grocery stores. Place the cedar chips in a bowl, vase, or mesh bag. You can also add cinnamon sticks or dried flowers to enhance the fragrance and look. The potpourri should be changed every 30 days to sustain deodorization.
3. Add Essential Oils to Your Toilet Paper Roll

4. Vinegar
We can’t talk about deodorizing without talking about vinegar.
While vinegar has a strong smell, it also has very powerful deodorizing and sanitizing effect.To use vinegar as a deodorizer, pour one cup of white or apple cider vinegar into your toilet bowl. Let it sit for about an hour before flushing.
For extra deodorizing power add some baking soda when you add the vinegar.
5. All Natural DIY Deodorizing Spray
Store bought bathroom air fresheners contain harsh chemicals.
This is a natural, cheaper option.
½ cup hot water
3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon baking soda
20 drops of lime, lemon, grapefruit, or lavender essential oil
Mix the hot water, lemon juice, baking soda, and essential oils in a spray bottle. Keep in your bathroom to spray for freshness.
